Getting Started

What is B-Anon?

B-Anon is an anonymous chat app where you talk to real people without giving up your name, number, or email. No profiles, no social baggage — just a device-linked ID that keeps you completely hidden.

Think of it as the chat app you wish existed — private by default, no sign-up hoops, and zero judgment.

Is B-Anon free to use?

Yep — chatting, connecting, and messaging are all free. No hidden fees, no paywalls on the basics.

There are some optional premium features if you want extra perks, billed through Google Play or the App Store. You'll always see the price upfront before anything gets charged.

Is there an age limit?

Yes — B-Anon is strictly 18+. No exceptions. By using the app, you're confirming you're an adult.

If we find out someone is under 18, their account gets shut down immediately and all their data is deleted. We take this seriously.

Do I need to sign up or create a profile?

Nope — no sign-up, no registration forms, no "verify your email" nonsense. Just open the app and you're in. An anonymous account gets created automatically and tied to your device.

If you want a safety net, you can optionally link a Google account so you can recover your account if you ever switch phones.

Privacy & Anonymity

Is B-Anon really anonymous?

100%. We don't ask for your name, phone number, or email. Your account is just a device ID — we literally don't know who you are, and that's the whole point.

The person you're chatting with? They can't see who you are either. You're completely invisible behind your anonymous identity.

Nobody — not your chat partner, not even us — can see your device ID or anything that ties back to you.

What information does B-Anon collect about me?

As little as humanly possible. Here's the full list:

  • Your device ID — so we can create your anonymous account
  • Basic app usage data — stuff like crash reports so we can fix bugs
  • Your Google email — only if you choose to link it for account recovery

That's it. No name, no phone number, no location history, no contacts, no browsing data. Check our Privacy Policy if you want the full breakdown.

Can B-Anon see who I'm talking to?

We can see that two anonymous IDs are in a conversation (we need that to route messages), but we have zero idea who either person actually is. And we can't read what you're saying — that's between you two.

Everything is end-to-end encrypted, meaning only you and your chat partner have the keys to unlock your messages.

Security & Encryption

Are my messages private?

Absolutely. Every chat on B-Anon is end-to-end encrypted. Only you and the person you're talking to can read them — our team literally cannot see your messages, even if we wanted to.

Media (photos, audio, video) only lives on our servers long enough to get delivered. Once it reaches the other person, it's permanently wiped.

What happens to messages after they are delivered?

Once a message gets delivered, it's automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. We don't keep copies, we don't archive — it's gone.

If a message can't be delivered right away, it sits in an encrypted queue for a short window, then gets wiped too.

Heads up — delivery isn't always guaranteed. Spotty network or technical hiccups can sometimes get in the way. We can't be held responsible for messages that don't make it through.

Is B-Anon secure against hackers?

We use end-to-end encryption and follow security best practices to keep your conversations locked down. That said, let's be real — no app on earth can promise 100% bulletproof security against every possible threat.

The best thing you can do? Keep your phone secure — strong lock screen, OS updates installed, the basics. That alone goes a long way in protecting your B-Anon account.

Account & Device

Can I recover my account if I lose my phone?

That depends on whether you set up Google account linking beforehand:

  • If you linked Google: You're good — just install B-Anon on your new phone, sign in with the same Google account, and everything comes back.
  • If you didn't: Unfortunately, we can't help. Since we don't collect any personal info, there's no way for us to prove it's you and give you access back.
Seriously — go link your Google account in Settings right now if you haven't already. Future you will thank you.

Does reinstalling the app delete my data?

Nope. Uninstalling the app doesn't touch your account or data. If you reinstall on the same device, everything comes back exactly how you left it — chats, friends, all of it.

If you actually want your data gone for good, you need to use the Delete Account option in the app (Settings → Delete Account).

How do I delete my account and data?

It's simple — here's how:

  • Open the B-Anon app
  • Head to Settings
  • Scroll down and tap Delete Account
  • Confirm it — and you're done

This wipes everything — chats, friends, history — permanently from our servers. There's no undo button, even if you reinstall.

One thing to know: since your account is anonymous, we can't verify who you are over email. So deletion has to happen from inside the app. Check out our Data Deletion page for the full walkthrough.

Can I use B-Anon on multiple devices at the same time?

Right now, your account lives on one device at a time. You can move it to a new phone if you've linked Google, but using B-Anon on two devices simultaneously isn't supported yet.

Safety & Reporting

How do I report someone for bad behaviour?

Hit the report button right from the chat screen — it's that easy. Our team looks into every report and can restrict or permanently ban the person from the platform.

Since we can't read your encrypted messages, we rely on behavioral signals, metadata, and the details you share in your report to take action.

You can also block anyone from the chat screen. Once blocked, they're gone — they won't be able to reach you again.

What content is not allowed on B-Anon?

We keep it simple — don't be terrible. Here's what will get you banned:

  • Nudity, explicit sexual content, or pornography of any kind
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — absolute zero tolerance
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or bullying
  • Doxxing or leaking someone's private info
  • Spam, bots, or automated messaging
  • Scams, fraud, or anything illegal
  • Promoting terrorism, self-harm, or violence

Break these rules and you'll catch a permanent device-level ban. Serious stuff gets reported straight to law enforcement. See our full Terms of Use.

Can I block someone I don't want to hear from?

Yes — just tap the block button on the chat screen. Once you block someone, they're done. No more messages, no more connection requests. Gone.

Subscriptions & Billing

What do premium features include?

Premium gives you extra perks and upgrades for those who want more. You'll see exactly what's included and how much it costs inside the app before you commit to anything. The core stuff — chatting and connecting — stays free for everyone.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You cancel through the same place you subscribed:

  • Android: Google Play → Account → Subscriptions → B-Anon → Cancel
  • iOS: App Store → Account → Subscriptions → B-Anon → Cancel

Just make sure you cancel before your next billing date so you don't get charged again. Subscriptions auto-renew until you turn them off.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds go through Google Play or the App Store — not through us, since they handle all the payments. Reach out to their support team and they'll take care of it.

Just a heads-up: losing your phone, deleting your account, or not being able to use the app doesn't automatically mean you get a refund. Refunds follow the app store's policies and applicable laws.
